Have you noticed that most repurposed content on LinkedIn is boring and formal? So the bar for your repurposed content is too low, to be honest. Anything slightly different would also do the job.
That's Tip #1 for you! Before I give you other tips, let's see what you are missing.
It's true that LinkedIn has been here for 2 decades now. But until recently, it wasn't used as a platform where you create content. There are still a lot of people who use it only for professional networking. This means it still has a long way to go to reach a stage where there is too much noise on the platform for your content to stand out. If you are repurposing your content, the entire process becomes even easier.
With these content repurposing tips, let's see how you can act fast and establish yourself in the LinkedIn content market.
Tip #2 - Make sure your pillar content is good
If your entire pillar content is shit, how do you expect to mine gold out of it? It is crucial that the content you are repurposing is of good quality otherwise, you will be just amplifying bad content.
Tip #3 - Limiting inspiration
Most businesses just see what their competitors are doing and how they are repurposing their content. Their content research is limited to LinkedIn. All I want to say is that if you are doing that, you are missing out on a lot. Like I said, the content on LinkedIn is mostly boring and formal. People just assume that it has to be that way because it is a professional networking site. But there is no written rule.
So, expand your research scope. Go to platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok, and Snapchat and take ideas on how to make engaging content. In short, experiment.
Tip #4 - It's all about short-form content
LinkedIn means business professionals with little time. They don't come to LinkedIn to search for content. What I am trying to say is that why would they even do that when LinkedIn is not a search engine. So, they use LinkedIn for mindless scrolling. So, only bite-sized catchy content will grab their attention. If you are repurposing on LinkedIn, then try to focus on bite-sized content like quote cards, infographics, or short snippets.
Tip #5 - Industry Influence over Random awareness
When you are repurposing content for LinkedIn, your focus should not be on creating random awareness by making too many pieces of content for everyone. It should not be like you are taking out everything and anything possible from the pillar content just to have a lot of posts. You should create content keeping in mind your target audience and whether or not you are adding value through it. This brings us to our next tip.
Tip #6 - Always focus on quality
It is not about how many posts you make but what is the content of the post. Your customers will appreciate content that is relevant and adds value. After all, who wants to be spammed with poor content that is irrelevant and makes them go - "What the heck is this". Once you are known as a brand for creating too much bad quality content, your good piece will also get overlooked. This is one of the mistakes you should avoid while repurposing content.
Tip #7 - Don't automate everything
We know there are a lot of content repurposing tools that automate the entire process but don't forget creating content is an art. So don't try to automate everything. Leave some room for new ideas and creativity.
Now is the time to get creative and make a mark before LinkedIn gets too crowded with content. Hopefully, these tips have convinced you to experiment and take the road less travelled by.
