Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on How to optimise Render Settings in After Effects:
- Click ‘Edit’ from the menu
- Hover over ‘Preferences’
- Select ‘Media & Disk Cache’
- Check ‘Enable Disk Cache’
- Set ‘Maximum Disk Cache Size’ to a value of your preference
- Within the same window choose ‘Memory & Preferences’ on the left-side navigation
- Check ‘RAM reserved for other applications’ is a least possible value (Ideally 10% of your Installed RAM)
- Make sure that ‘Enable Multi Frame Rendering’ is checked
- Close the window
- Click ‘File’ from the menu
- Select ‘Project Settings’
- Under ‘Video Rendering and Effects’ make sure GPU Acceleration is selected from the dropdown if available
- Click ‘OK’ to save the settings
- Click ‘Composition’ from the menu
- Hover over ‘Preview’
- Make sure ‘Cache Frames When Idle’ is checked
